Midterm

Students have one week to complete the attached take-home midterm.

There are two questions, one "easy" and one "hard", for each course topic covered up until this point. The "easy" questions tell me if the student understood the lecture. The "hard" questions tell me if the student has a working knowledge of the topic. The last section, which is my favorite by far, tells me if the student gets the "big picture." I usually update this section with a question derived from current events.
